we serve a god who gave his all

Because we worship a generous God who gave His everything to ensure our peace and salvation, we GIVE BACK. We serve our community and our own church, too. Below are a just some of the ministries within our church that we support with either our time or our financial resources. We encourage you to learn more and share your gifts!

  • Breakfast at the heights

Breakfast at the Heights is a truly special ministry for the people in the Floral Heights neighborhood. Different groups at Floral Heights take turns preparing a breakfast of coffee, juice, pancakes and bacon each Sunday morning at 8:30, in the Merwin Turner Outreach Building located at 2301 9th Street (Corner of Polk & 9th Street). It's a great way for locals to enjoy a free, hot meal and hear a message of hope, too.

  • Prayer shawl ministry

The prayer shawl ministry is a vibrant serving opportunity at Floral Heights.  Every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., an average of 15 women gather together to crochet beautiful shawls that are distributed beyond our four walls into our own community and even worldwide.  Their time is spent in prayer, devotion, and laughter as they craft these wonderful reminders of God's love.  To learn more about the prayer shawl ministry, please contact us.

  • Hospitality ministry

The Flower Ministry at Floral Heights re-purposes the beautiful altar flowers from each Sunday.  They meet on Monday morning and break down the flowers into smaller arrangements that they deliver into the community - sharing in the joys of life and the sorrows, too.  Many of these flowers are delivered to guests of our worship services, too. • Scouts

So many men can remember the lessons they learned about God and serving their country through participation in Scouts during their childhood and teenage years.  Floral Heights is the charter church for Troop 1 and Pack 1.  Both groups are highly active during the week, serve Breakfast at the Heights on some Sunday mornings, and they lead worship once annually at Floral Heights.  Contact us for more information.

  • Congregational care

We currently have a small group of lay servants who minister to our congregants living in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and other long-term care centers. They spend time visiting with them, praying for them, and providing our pastor and staff with updates on these congregants. For more information about becoming a congregational care minister, please contact us.
