If your phone and phone plan allows you to send and receive text messages, you may follow us with twitter.

Here is how you begin. Send a text message to Twitter that has signup in the subject line. The number for Twitter is 40404, so you would send a SMS text message to 40404 and place "signup" in the subject line.

To follow us you would send another text to 40404 that says "follow fhumc" in the subject line. You should then receive a confirmation text.

The website has undergone some major upgrades over the last few months in order to make it even more user-friendly. Some of new features are “Navigation” tabs along the left margin of the pages. These tabs or links will help the user move from one section to another.

There are also contact forms that allow you to send a direct email message to the contact person listed on that page. It seems that email and other digital communication methods are here to stay. Go to http://www.gmail.com to register for a free email account.

Please take a few moments and update the information about your Sunday School Class or organization. This will help members and visitors alike receive timely and quality information.

Your class or organization should include a list of officers, teachers and contact information. A schedule of upcoming events, as well as photos or videos of current activities will help make our site more appealing. A recent study found that 89 percent of all internet users use the Internet to look up spiritual topics or items. Of that 89 percent more than half will use the Internet to find places of worship.

The best method to submit this information is to email it to the Communications Office at fhumcrs@gmail.com. Submissions my also be turned into Rex Seigler’s mailbox at the Church Office.

There have been many changes happening in the radio ministry. If you did not make it to the ministry meetings last month, or if you would like to volunteer for the radio ministry, please contact Rex Seigler to arrange training on the soundboard and recorder.


We have purchased a new recorder for the sound board. The old cd one was worn out and ceased recording. The new one records in multiple formats and allows for easier editing when it comes to sermon podcasts (recordings that are available over the internet). 


The recorder writes the data to a compact flash card that  is about 1.5 inches square. It allows a technician to down load the data to a computer for editing, rebroadcasting or generating cd's.


We are going to try to use email to send an invitation reminder to volunteers on Wednesdays. Please respond back to accept or decline your appointment to the soundboard. The email will include any special reminders or special arrangements that may be needed for the weeks service.
