30 Hour Famine

February 24-26,2012

Beginning at 12 midnight on Friday, February 24 our youth will fast for 30 straight hours. We’re getting a crash course in global hunger and we need everyone to be involved. Even if you don’t fast you can pray, asking God to bless our group as we make this “love hungry” sacrifice.

We also need volunteers to chaperone Saturday night and help with breakfast on Sunday morning. Cost for the event is $20 and the basic details are as follows:

  • Friday, February 25:
    • Start fasting (on your own) at 12 midnight.
  • Saturday, Feb. 26: (Wear work clothes, bring an overnight bag)
    • 8:00am – Arrive at FUMC for mission project (Texas ramp build)
    • 1:00pm – Return to FUMC for Famine programs and Lock-in.
    • (You will be spending the night at FUMC)
  • Sunday, Feb. 27:
    • 6:00-8:00am: End of Famine breakfast and dismissal.

Youth Spring Mission Trip 2012

MARCH 10-17, 2012

Our Destination

We’re tracking out to Cumberland Mountains, TN to work among a Christian community, helping others meet different types of needs (physical, social, emotional and spiritual), and emphasizing faith   development throughout the total experience.

The Work Ahead

While there, we will be building and painting, however our focus will not solely be on the porch you build or the room you paint, but on the relationship you form with the family you serve.  Your relationship will be one that builds upon a foundation Mountain T.O.P. has been laying for many years, reflecting the love of Christ.  Helping at Mountain T.O.P. means the work you do will not only be fulfilling basic needs, but will act as a reminder that all people are loved and belong to the body of Christ.
