sunday school

It's hard to be a Christian without community. We need other believers in our lives to challenge our understanding of the Bible, to help us explore our faith, and to share the highs and lows of life together. No matter your age or stage of life, there's a "Sunday School" group for you. You don't need prior exposure or understanding of the Bible to join us. We're all in this together!

These classes meet all over the building, beginning around 9:00 a.m. If you're interested in joining us, let us know, so we can make sure you experience a group that works for you.

  • Nursery

During Sunday School, babies, toddlers and preschoolers under the age of 4 are cared for in our beautiful nursery. Our nursery is always staffed with at least 2 caregivers over the age of 18 who have completed Ministry Safe training and have passed a background check. These paid staff people are excited to spend quality time with your precious babies and can often be seen cuddling in a rocker or playing on the floor.

  • fireflies class - Age 4 - 1st Grade

These sweet little ones receive a full Sunday School lesson in their nursery room and they follow the "Spark Preschool" curriculum. This class is held in the larger of the two nursery rooms in the children's wing. All volunteers have completed Ministry Safe training and passed a background check.

  • Sparks Sunday School - 2nd - 5th Grade

This class follows the Spark Rotation curriculum. Each month, children explore a new Bible story, using four or five different learning experiences, ranging from cooking to science and art. There is a large rotation of Sunday School teachers who plan something exciting and fresh each week, but with one "shepherd" that remains a familiar face. All our teachers and shepherds are Ministry Safe certified and have passed background checks. Most importantly, they love children and cherish sharing God's word with them.

  • Student ministry

Our youth group meets for Sunday School and have several different teachers that invest in their lives and faith development. Their curriculum isn't set, so they can be flexible to address the needs of the group as they arise. Our students meet together from 6th-12th grade, and the older ones take the younger students under their wing, providing Christian friendships and support.

  • The Eagles Class

This is a group of mostly 30s and 40s who are parenting babies, children and teenagers. Each week, members of the class take turns facilitating a Bible-based discussion. This group is heavily involved in teaching the Fireflies and Little Sparks classes on a rotation basis. They also have lots of fun together outside of Sunday morning and are excited to welcome new people into the mix.

  • The Trinity Class

The Trinity class is a group of mostly retirees, but they welcome adults of all ages. They often do book studies, such as "The Ten Questions that Christians are Asking" or "Revealing the Mysteries of Heaven" that span 6-10 weeks and provide an excellent opportunity for new guests to join the group.

  • The journey class

The Journey Class is made up of mostly couples and a few singles in their late 50s to early 70s. They participate in selected topics and materials using book studies, Bible studies and occasionally DVD series. The group enjoys studying, fellowshipping and serving together. Guests are welcome at any time.

  • the anniversary class

The Anniversary class is made up of senior adults, including both singles and couples. They are always welcoming of new guests. Their time together includes hymn singing and a lesson from the Quarterly Bible Study series by David C. Cook. Their mission is to minister to those in sorrow or distress.

  • the 50/50 class

The 50/50 Class is a group of active over-60s men, women and couples who are always looking for and welcoming new members. We use the Quarterly Bible Study series by David C. Cook. Our current four teachers rotate Sundays. We have at least two parties each year, and we adopt a family at Christmas.
